Cozy Game Restoration Quests and Rewards Explained
How Cozy Game Restoration quests work: collection goals, calendar quests, genre and rarity requirements, and the room decorations they reward.
What kind of quests does the game have?
Collection quests. There is no quest giver chasing you through a story — the store description frames them as goals that complete as you restore and shelve carts, with two visible shapes:
- Count quests, such as “collect three puzzle games” or “two rare platformers”.
- Calendar quests, such as “have 4 sci-fi games on your game shelf on November 7”.
The calendar variety is the one that changes how you play. Because the game runs an in-game calendar, a calendar quest is framed in game time rather than real time, and nothing in the game can fail — so treat the date as the game’s own timing, not a threat. Confirmed behaviour beyond these two shapes is not published; treat a “full quest list” written before 4 November as guesswork.
How many quests are there?
The developer describes “many quests”, and every completed quest gives a decoration for the room. The full game is built around roughly 300 of them.
What matters for planning is the shape, not the count: quests are driven by the collection, so the fastest way to clear several at once is to chase a genre rather than a specific title.
What do quests reward?
A gift containing a decoration or cosmetic for your collection room. That is the only reward channel the store page describes, and it is why the room is worth caring about early: quests fund the furniture, the furniture is what makes the room yours, and the display you build feeds the shelf bonuses that change your cleaning power.
Each finished cartridge also reports a letter grade plus its purchase price and market value, which is how you see whether a rare find was worth the parcel. The grade is cosmetic as far as the quest list goes; the value feeds the shelf totals.
The chain reads: clean carts → shelve carts → complete quests → decorate the room → better shelves → easier cleaning. Read collection room for the shelf half of that loop.
How do I finish quests faster?
Four habits, all visible in the demo:
- Check the quest list before buying a parcel. Genre and rarity requirements are what parcels are for, so buy toward a gap instead of buying whatever is cheapest.
- Shelf genre-consistently. Stacking several high-rarity carts of the same genre raises the related tool property, which makes cleaning those carts faster and feeds economy bonuses.
- Keep calendar quests in view. If a quest needs a cart on the shelf on a date, buy early; deliveries and parcel contents are not something you can rush on the day.
- Don’t sell duplicates too fast. A duplicate of the right genre finishes count quests that a unique rare cannot.
For the rarity ladder those quests reference, see the cartridge collection page; for the cleaning side, start at the restoration workflow.
Do quests gate progress?
No. Nothing in the game fails and there is no timer, so an unfinished quest sits in the list until you get to it. The demo splits the tutorial into a cleaning half and a collection-room half so quests and decorations are introduced before you are left alone with the room.
The one thing quests do gate is decoration supply: if you want a furnished room, quests are the source, so ignoring them leaves the room bare rather than blocking the game.
